We are broken hearted to advise that Gary Grant Jones passed away on November 6, 2026 at the age of 79.
Gary leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Carol, son Christopher (Trish), daughter Jennifer, and his much-loved grandchildren Carter (born on Gary’s 60th birthday), Jesse, Pressley, Kaiden and Skylar, sister-in-law, Kay, and brother-in-law, Mark, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Gerald and Marie Jones and sister Terry (Mark).
Gary worked at Union Gas until his retirement. He was a devoted and proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years. One of his claims to fame was his excellent perch dinners. Gary enjoyed travelling and especially loved golf. He was involved in organizing Legion Golf Tournaments and played darts every Wednesday night. Gary had a great sense of humour that will be missed.
Gary did no wish to have a funeral, but rather a Celebration of Life will be planned in the future.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 465, Merlin or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
