Visitation:

Glad Tidings Community Church
Sunday June 28, 2020 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Due to COVID restrictions and responsible social distancing, you are asked to remain in your car in the parking lot until a parking lot attendant directs you to proceed.

Patrick Shawn Pickle of Blenheim passed away on Thursday June 25, 2020.  Born in Leamington 71 years ago to the late Roxanne & Edward Dowdy Pickle, Pat is survived by his brother Norman & Gaye Pickle and by his sisters-in-law Patricia Pickle and Judy Pickle.  He was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Gilbert.

In 1974 Pat married the love of his life, Ruth Ann (Pfaff) and they began a life together that would span over 42 years when Ruth Ann predeceased him in 2016.  Their relationship was a true testimony of love and support.  They were a perfect couple, completely devoted to God and one another.  Together Pat and Ruth Ann raised three children who they were forever proud of; Jennifer & Daryl Atkinson, Rachel & Jason Apthorp and Jeff Pickle & Grace Milne.  Pat will be missed by his grandchildren Simon and Cameron Atkinson and Cameron, Jaden and McKenna Milne.  He will also be missed by the Pfaff family and by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

All of the paths that Pat chose to walk in his life led him to helping people.  It would be no surprise when he was called to the Ministry and gained the designation of Pastor.  He was a friend, a confidant and a companion to many people who he met and helped along his journey.  He lived his life as a true Christian and was a role model to all.

Visitation for Pat will be held on Sunday June 28, 2020 at Glad Tidings Community Church where Pat served for many years.  Due to COVID restrictions and responsible social distancing, you are asked to remain in your car in the parking lot until a parking lot attendant directs you to proceed. Visitation times will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service for Pat will be held in the church on Monday June 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  Again, social distancing protocols will be in place which will allow for limited seating inside.  Friends may also remain in their cars and listen to the service being broadcasted over your car radio on FM 88.9.

Friends wishing to remember Pat with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Canadian Hearing Services or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

MAY THIS POEM COMFORT EACH ONE OF YOU AND TODAY FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART I THANK GOD FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET PASTOR PAT AND MANY PRAYERS ARE BEING SENT ACROSS THE MiLES.
    TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Dear love ones lift your spirits.
And take a peek up here.
One glimpse will sooth your sorrow.
For my new home will appear.

You will see the land of promise.
    Which we all talked about.
    Its beautiful and far greater.
Than we dreamed without a doubt.

    I expected Golden pathways.
Mansions fair and gates of Pearl.
But this place exceeds the visions.
I had while in this world.

What a Thrilll to be here dancing.
In the midst of Heavens Throng.
See me dancing with the Angels.
    Singing praise and worship songs.

Though you miss me I'm not distant.
I still have my sights on you.
    I just crossed into forever.
Where I have a better view.

Keep good memories to console you
But let grief and mourning go.
    Smile dear love ones.
Im in heaven living in God's glow.

PRAYING FOR GOMFORT .AND THANKING GOD.(WELL DONE FAITHFUL SERVANT)

  • Pastor Pat was so easy to talk to you sure could tell he loved the Lord. It took him along time to get over loosing his best friend Ruth Ann. I loved his preaching & some things he wrote on facebook he sure knew how to write i told him he could write books. He will be missed by so many people but just knowing he is in Heaven with his Lord & Saviour gives you comfort & peace.
