It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Alfred “Bill” Taylor, loving husband of Jan (Docherty) and father of Shayna.

Born 65 years ago to the late Ernest & Marjorie (Knott) Taylor, Bill will be remembered by his sisters Donna (Rick) Pritchard, Lou Anne (Bob) Pauhl, Jean Taylor and their families.  He was predeceased by his brother Wayne.

Bill was a best friend and neighbour to the community that he lived in.  An avid sportsman, he not only loved hockey, baseball and golf but he truly valued the friendships and comradery that came with them.  He liked to cook, which turned into many catering gigs, he loved to party and he was well known for his ability to carry out practical jokes on unsuspecting friends.  He took his fashion cues from no one.  His signature every day look was anything camo from his hat to his crocs and everything in between…it didn’t even have to match.  He didn’t believe on putting on airs; he just did what he did because he liked to do it.  He was easy to be around and a great influence, becoming well known as “Uncle Bill” to many kids.

A happy part of Bill’s life was his extended family which included Peggy & Bob Knott, Susie Knott, Gayle & Paul Facto, Julie & Jeff Faflak and their families, Beth & Dale Koehler (Scott and Joel) and Bob & Cathy Docherty (Joshua and Emily).  He was predeceased by his sister in law Carol Docherty.

A warm thank you is extended to Dr. Martha Clendenning for being a friend and caregiver.  Your kindness did not go unnoticed.

In true Bill fashion, there will be a gathering at the Willow Ridge Golf Course on Sunday September 10th from 3:00 – 5:00 where friends can share a memory, a drink and something to eat.  Put on your finest camo for the occasion…he will be smiling down on us if we do that!

Finally, if you wish to remember Bill and his community spirit, consider making a memorial donation to the Blenheim Blades or the Talbot Trail Park.  Donations can be made online at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com or in person at the Golf Course on Sunday.

I have fond memories of Thurs. men’s league and Sunday morning scrambles when Billy, JohnT,and Donny G would walk in . No order needed to be put in. Number 3’s would be ready at the bar. Sadly I will not be at the Celebration of Life on Sunday but I will honour Billy with a Number 3 in hand. He is one of the best gone far too soon! 🙏🏻💔
