On Tuesday February 7, 2023 Ron Reader passed away peacefully in his home with his loving family by his side.  Ron is survived by his beloved partner Laurie Kuipers-Stothart, his children John McNeil and  Jessica Reader-Killoran, granddaughter Kaia McNeil, beloved sister Carol Reader and nieces Olivia, Evelyn and Sophie Bano.  Predeceased by his sister Diane Reader and his parents Boyd & Doris (Teahen) Reader.

Ron was born in Chatham in 1966 and held many positions in the manufacturing industry including the past 10 years at Nu-Co Plastics.  The news of Ron’s passing has left a profound void at Nu-Co.  He will be remembered as a true professional and loyal friend whose impact on the company and it’s employees will never be forgotten.

Ron was a loving, funny, generous, kind person who could always bring a smile to those around him.  His love of life, family and friends extended into music and a love of heavy metal.  He was an accomplished musician and held a DJ position as “Reckless Ronnie” with Broken Neck Radio for years.  He touched the lives of so many with his unwavering love for music, his encyclopedic knowledge of heavy metal and his engaging personality.

He was a loving partner, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the music he loved.

A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held on Sunday February 19, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 at the Kent Belgian Dutch Canadian Club, Chatham.  Words of remembrance will be shared at 2:00.  A graveside service will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 1:30pm.

Friends wishing to remember Ron with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Blenheim Rotary Club’s Music Program that sponsors guitar lessons for children.
