David Green

A photo of David Green

Peacefully, surrounded by his family David Green passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the age of 71. Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mildred (nee Gosnell) Green. Loving husband of 41 years to Penny (nee Martin) Green. Cherished and adored father of Victoria Lane (Christian) Belau of Germany and Amanda Ashley (Eric) Nipp of Winnipeg. Loving grandfather of Joshua, Aiden, and Jasper. Dear brother of Kathleen Perry and brother-in-law of Lyn Green, Shirley Green, and Rick Martin. Predeceased by his brothers Dr. Peter Green, Ken Green and brother-in-law David Perry. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. David was a fine man, brave, strong, and smiley. He had a meticulous nature about him. He was a long digressive storyteller, a lover of jocularity, and he wanted to tell his family and friends as the song goes, “I’ll meet you further on up the road!” As per his request, cremation has taken place and the family will remember him privately. Donations made in memory of David to the Blenheim Medical Health Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com

We're so sorry to see that David is gone. I have fond memories of playing together on Mcgregor Street as kids. My Grandparents, Art and Lila Pegg, lived next door to the Greens so we were casual, over the fence friends for many years. Please accept our heartfelt condolences at this sad time. Rosemary and Craig Mitton

So sorry for your loss Penny

Dave was an admirable man. The Greens were one of my first clients in Beaumont Alberta and we've become great friends over the past 22 years. Dave was always quick to help out and always with a smile on his face. There is lots that'll be missed by many people, but Dave's laugh is top of my list. RIP my friend.

Sincere condolences Penny and family. Dave was such a good friend to our brother Rocket. Rest in Peace Dave. The Richard's family.

Please accept our sincere condolences The Perry family. Joan and David Mary and Eric Ferguson Susan and Andy Kathleen I Perry

Penny I don’t have the words to describe how sorry I was to hear of David’s passing. We didn’t talk a lot but when we did it was if we ‘d had a conversation the day before. I cherished his friendship. I know from our conversations how much he loved you and the girls, that was David , his family meant everything to him. Too soon gone but never forgotten by anyone who had the good fortune to know him . Greg Aljoe

Dearest Penny and family, I am so very sorry that Dave had to say goodbye. For sure, he will live on in all of your hearts as well as the hearts of all who knew him. He was definitely a character, fun to listen to and, as my mom would say, ‘one of the good guys’! Having met Dave in the very early 70’s through my Banfield family and having our paths crisscrossing over the decades, I know that he will always be remembered! Love and Peace, Johnette

Rest in Peace, join your brothers in Heaven

Sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I am so thankful I sat with Penny and Dave at the Senior Christmas concert last Dec. My prayers and blessings to Penny, Kathy and all of the families.

Our lives intertwined from the late 50’s to present. To look at the beautiful white home across the street and then being invited in to love happiness and intrigue was wonderful , I remembered standing on the corner with David with his Gold coins and me with my Acapulco Gold, crazy world we live in . My heart is sore , love life Matthew Pill

People are in our lives for a reason, or a season. I had the opportunity to get to know David through lovely Penny, my market friend. In the time I connected with David, his unwavering love and commitment to Penny, his family, and to people were sooo refreshing and heartwarming. David took the time to be present and connect with people in such a selfless way. He was sooo genuine, and that memory will linger thru my life. David, you are a class act.
