Mr. Hugh “Roger” Hawthornthwaite passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday November 3, 2013. Born in England 73 years ago to his late parents John William and Muriel Vivien (Hammock) Hawthornthwaite, Roger met a young lady named Pauline Baker while working in the Jaguar plant and in time they were married. Roger and Pauline raised four children; Amanda & James Angell of London, David Hawthornthwaite (predeceased by his wife Lorisa) of Alberta, Paul Hawthornthwaite & Jennifer of Alberta and Christopher & Renee Hawthornthwaite of New Brunswick. They were also blessed with six grandchildren; Meghan Hawthornthwaite, Andrew Hawthornthwaite, Colton Hawthornthwaite, Kade Hawthornthwaite, William Hawthornthwaite and Julie Hawthornthwaite. Roger was an Aircraft Engineer by trade. Upon moving to Canada, he and Pauline lived in many places before settling in Blenheim. Always willing to lend a hand and to his family, his friends and his neighbours, Roger will be missed. It was Rogers wish that this stage of his life be respected with quiet dignity. A private family service has taken place. Online condolences for the family and memorial donations may be left at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com
