Condolences

MY CONDOLENCES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. YOU ARE A GOOD FRIEND. WE WILL MISSED YOU.

Mr Leidl was my Phys Ed teacher in 1979 and I am sad to hear of his passing he will be missed by all of his former students and the B.D.H.S my condolances go out to his remaining family

Hi Dianne. So sorry to hear about Paul's death. We got to know each other through curling. Paul and you were so much fun. At times I didn't agree with Paul's strategy but I don't agree with anybody all the time. He did give good tips on how to make shots. My relation with curling is a bit awkward right now. I really want to quit drinking but slip off the wagon pretty easy still. I don't think I am ready to not drink at curling yet. The problem with this is that I will probably not get a chance to see you for a while. If I do see you around town, I hope the situation will be appropriate for me to express my condolences in person. Keep up the good fight. Harold V

Tim and Brian So sorry to hear of your dad Paul’s passing. Many memories of working together as fellow department heads. A good friendship was developed through athletes. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Hopefully through you this fine tradition will continue. Ed and Diane

Dianne and Family: Between our bus driving years and our curling years, we considered Paul a good friend. He will be missed. Thinking of you with sympathy, prayers and caring.

Brian, Tim and family. I’m sorry to hear that your dad passed away at such a young age. I enjoyed golfing with him. The conversation inevitably turned to volleyball where it was evident how proud he was of you. He was one of my early mentors in the game and I am grateful to him for that. Please accept my condolences.

My condolences to Dainne and family. So sorry to hear about Paul 's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Brian & Tim, I am deeply sorry to hear of your father’s passing. Such sad news. I remember him sitting in the stand at CKSS watching the VB games with such pride while you 2 were coaching ! Thinking of you during this difficult time. My sincere Condolences to you both and the whole family .

Dear Dianne, Brian, Dan, Tim, Lynn and Eric, My sincere condolences to you all on the loss of Paul. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

When I first heard the news Paul's passing, I was shocked and very sad. He seemed younger than his age and had a zest for life. Rest in peace, Paul.

My sincere condolences. Was always kind and helpful to me in gym class way back. He was a great man.

Sorry for your loss. Live his life in all the memories you have.

Diane, Brian, Dan, Tim, Lynn and Eric, Liz and I would like to express our sincerest condolences following the passing of Paul. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Our friendship with Paul and his first wife Linda started when we moved to Blenheim in 1964. Linda was a teacher at the Talbot Street School when I became principal at Talbot Street and W.J. Baird Schools. They raised three kind and respectful boys. Paul was a great man, father, husband, teacher, coach and mentor. His interest in sports was passed on to sons, especially volleyball where he attended many Championship Games to see his sons coach, and show his support. Paul was a gentleman and a sportsman who demonstrated his sense of competitiveness and desire to be be his best, who will be missed at the golf and curling club. Our friendship at Blenheim United with Diane and Paul will always be in our memories. He will be remembered and missed by all. Sincerely, Gord and Liz Kirk and family.

Dianne and family I was so very sorry to learn of Paul’s passing. I enjoyed having him as a teacher but will miss seeing him at church or at the curling club where he always wanted you to play your best -and enjoy a good conversation afterwards. Robin and Brain Rideout

I was so saddened to hear of Paul Leidl’s passing. I worked with Paul as a teacher and coach at BDHS. He was a true sportsman : competitive, confident and calm. As years passed by I would see him at various volleyball matches proudly supporting his sons. He always greeted me with a firm, caring handshake and a smile - such a gentleman. He will be missed. My thoughts are with the entire Leidl family at this difficult time.

Dianne and family, we are so sorry to hear of Paul,s passing! You are in our thoughts and prayers. Joe and Suzanne Lessard

Our deepest condolences for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

To Dianne, Brian, Dan, Tim, Lynn and Eric; We are very much saddened by the news of Paul' death. The many condolences that you have already received attest to the many wonderful qualities exhibited by Paul in his many roles. Especially as a fellow teacher I always thought of him as a rock- so steady, thoughtful, strong and kind. He was someone to look to as well as look up to. He will surely be missed and we are all richer to have known him.. Sincerely Anne, Don and Paul Eastman.

It is with shock and sadness that we learned this morning about the death of Paul Leidl-(October 5th, 2020) We had the privilege to know him as physical education teaches and coaches in the Lambton-Kent District School Board. Paul always was a true gentleman, very sportsmanlike and a wonderful role model/mentor for younger Phys. Ed. teachers. When his sons were coaching, Paul rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on their teams In an encouraging and respectful manner- especially in their many volleyball OFSAAS where we would see Paul there. He was one of those legends in coaching and teaching but being from a small school, he did not receive all the championships and accolades he deserved!! We then had the privilege of having both Brian and Tim as colleagues at CKSS and they both had the politeness and caring attitude towards their students and athletes as mentored by their father. They carry on his outstanding legacy!! We grieve with the whole Leidl family today and hope that you can take solace in having the blessing and memories of having a Paul Leidl in your lives!! Our deepest sympathies!!

Our condolences to the Leidl family. Both Rick and I had Mr Leidl for a teacher and we both worked with him at BDHS for many years. Paul passed his love for teaching and coaching onto many of his students including Brian and Tim. Rest In Peace Paul.

Dianne we are saddened to hear of the passing of your husband Paul. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I have fond memories of Paul as a tough but fair teacher, great coach, intense competitor and a good and decent man. Grade 12 canoe trip was one of my best memories of high school involving Paul, lots of fun. Then as an adult I got to know him through curling and golf. A true gentlemen. He will be missed. Dianne and Jerry Forsyth

Sincere condolences.🙏

My sincere condolences to the entire Leidl family. I had the privilege of working with Paul at BDHS, a gentleman and devoted teacher. When he retired I asked a couple of students what one word to describe Mr Leidl would be ...Squads. I made a card around that theme and I know he appreciated it. Thankful to have known this kind man he will be missed. Ruth Moerman

Dianne, my prayers and heartfelt condolences to you and your loved ones for your loss. I will always remember Paul for his zest for life, effervescent personality and that smile that always had a way of brightening your day. Not only did Paul leave a lasting impression on me as my Phys. Ed. teacher during my BDHS years but also later in life at the Golden Acres Curling Club as my Skip and teammate. Wishing you comfort and peace in the days ahead.

I am very saddened to hear of Mr. Leidl’s passing. He was a major influence on my early years at BDHS in his role as teacher and coach. Over the last 30+ years since high school, Our paths crossed every once in a while (usually watching high school volleyball championships) and he always took time to reminisce with me about high school days. He will definitely be missed but will be remembered in a positive way by so many.

Linda and I send our condolences to the Leidl family. Linda was both Paul's student and a colleague. Paul was my teaching associate when I attended Althouse and later a colleague for 20 years. Paul was excellent in all of those roles. He will also be missed at the curling and golf clubs. He touched many lives here in Blenheim and will surely be remembered as "one of the good guys"

Our heartfelt sympathy to you, Dianne, Brian, Dan, Tim, Lynn, Eric and families.

I had come to the Golden Acres curling club on a Thursday afternoon 3 years ago. Paul made me feel welcomed that day and every time after that. He became a mentor and coach to me, and in such a short period of time ,left an impression on my soul. He had a great competitive spirit and I will miss him. My condolences to Dianne and family. May your hearts heal with fond memories of Paul.

I am so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing! Not only do I have fun memories of him during our OAC Phys. Ed. Camping trip (his last before his retirement when we carved him a small canoe and signed it) but also as a member of our United Church Family and as part of the Curling club. He was always such an active part of our Blenheim community. He will be missed by many.

Dianne and family.. so sorry to hear about Paul.. Please accept out sincere condolences. He was a wonderful caring man and will be missed by all who knew him Blessings, Don, Anne and Marcie

My condolences to Brian, Dan, Tim and family. Your father was a very significant mentor to me in my later high school years. One day in grade 12 while i just finished running a lap of the track to warm up for track and field practice, Mr. Leidl can up to me and said, let's the two of us go for a lap together. During that lap he told me i had a really smooth running stride. He then went on to say i was a much better athlete than what others though, especially, myself. He continued to tell me it was up to me to determine how far I could take things. From that day on I pushed myself to become a good enough athlete to be able to enjoy a five year university football career, and more importantly a university degree. Mr. Leidl, thank you so much for that 400 yard run. May you RIP and enjoy heaven!

I had the good fortune to get to know Paul as a student in his Phys Ed class and later as a BDHS colleague. He was a kind man, dedicated to his family, his students, and his community. In later years, when we crossed paths in the community or, most often, at the curling club, he would always stop for a bit to catch up on what had been going on in life and at school. Sending love and deepest condolences to the entire family.

Deepest sympathy to the Leidl family at this difficult time. Paul was a wonderful teacher. He truly cared about his students and had a passion for teaching and coaching. I enjoyed having him as my PE teacher and volleyball coach while at BDHS. I have so many wonderful memories of that time. I would always enjoy our visits when we would bump into each other in more recent years. He loved to brag about his kids. Take care and cherish all of your wonderful memories.

Dear Diane, Brian, Dan, Tim, Lynn, Eric and families, Sue and I would like to express our sincerest condolences to all of you following the passing of Paul. Your husband/father was a well respected colleague and friend who influenced so many people during his long and distinguished teaching career. We both looked up to Paul as a role model who always conducted himself in a professional manner. The dedication that he displayed towards his students was something that we both tried to emulate during our own teaching careers. May the positive memories that you have of Paul be a source of comfort to all of you during this most difficult time. Dennis and Sue Dutry

Paul was a kind man and a great teacher and volleyball coach. There were many fun rides with a wild pack of teenagers to tournaments in the “Transvan.” I don’t know how he put up with us. So sorry for your loss.

So very sorry for your loss. Paul was a great teacher, coach and mentor. He loved his community and will be missed. Please know Dianne that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Hugs. Andrew, Tracey, Jonathan, Jordan and families.

I had the pleasure of meeting PAUL a couple of times and you could tell he was a force. Having worked with Brian and Tim, it was clear the influence their father had in them becoming the men they are today. My most sincere condolences on your loss Brian and Tim (and families). Be well and allow the best memories to carry you forward.

Sorry for your loss. My fondest memory of Mr. Leidl was how enthusiastic he was for the gym class canoe trip. He was the type of teacher to make learning enjoyable!

Dianne and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with all of you right now.

My condolences to the Leidl family. I am saddened to hear this news and hope you find comfort in your memories. Paul was influential in my life. As a student of Paul’s and now Phys. Ed. teacher myself, I thought/think of him often. He was a positive role model whom I respected. I enjoy my memories of high school and curling in bonspiels against Paul later in life. I can see his smile and hear his voice from whenever we reconnected. And a small world story to share. I have been teaching for 20 years in Dorchester. One of the ‘older’ teachers who took me under his wing when I first started did his student teaching with Paul and credited Paul as helping him get started in the profession. Love and prayers Curt Pollard

I am so very sorry for your family's loss my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mr. Leidl was a great man, a great coach and was always there for me, deeply saddened by his passing.

Diane, Brian, Dan, Tim, Lynn, and Eric and Families: Please accept our profound sympathies. We are so sad. Mr. Leidl was such a long-standing and important part of Mom and Dad's life in Blenheim from the house on Talbot Street, the Phys-Ed Department, the boys' early sports and school lives, a teacher to David and I, lately the drives to church, and all the small and large moments therein. A lasting and wonderful friendship. What a legacy he leaves for his family and the many, many students he influenced. Fondly, Bob, Lynn, Elizabeth and David

Paul was my teacher at BDHS in the late 60s and early 70s. He was a great role model. He was a good man who guided us by imparting his life experiences and sharing his knowledge. Rest in Peace Mr. Leidl

My sincere condolences a well respected man that loved his community. John Nooyen and family

I am very sorry about your family's loss.

So sorry to hear of Paul’s passing.

Our condolences to the Leidl family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this time...I recall one Sunday when I lead the Service at Blenheim United, that Mr. Leidel told me it would have been a better service if I would have had the Hymn 'Tell Me the Stories of Jesus' after the Children's Time as it was one of his favourites... I tried to have it at any Service I led after that, and would see a smile on his face... You will be missed..

To the Leidl’s, I am sadden to hear of your Dad’s passing. I have very fond memories as a student and as a volunteer coach of times spent with your Dad. He always called me Lindsay. My deepest condolences to all members of the family. Your Dad touched many lives in a positive way. Thank you for sharing him with many of us.

May you find comfort in your many special memories. Thinking of you all.

I came to know Mr Leidl at two different stages in my life. The first was in Grade 9 Phys Ed. Mr Leidl would lock us all in illegal European wrestling holds until we tapped out. The second was as a curler at the Golden Acres Curling Club. Here, I came to appreciate his competitive spirit as an adult as he strategically “Rock-blocked” me as stones would arrive at the house. Of course, I say this all in jest as a show of respect for Mr Leidl and his good nature with everyone that knew him. My condolences to everyone in his family.

On behalf of the Rumble family you have our sympathies and love during this time of grief. I had Mr. Leidl for several classes at BDHS and he was my Coach their for many of the teams I played on. One thing I took from him is he taught me to be dignified in defeat as well as in victory. Hold your head high, you did well.

He was such a nice man and good teacher.

Brian and Tim, I am so sorry for your loss. I know your dad had a great impact on your lives and making you both the men you are today. My prayers are with you both and your families.

A great teacher, coach and genuine kind man. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Mike and Connie Sauve and family
