Sunday June 28, 2020 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Due to COVID restrictions and responsible social distancing, you are asked to remain in your car in the parking lot until a parking lot attendant directs you to proceed.

Patrick Shawn Pickle of Blenheim passed away on Thursday June 25, 2020.  Born in Leamington 71 years ago to the late Roxanne & Edward Dowdy Pickle, Pat is survived by his brother Norman & Gaye Pickle and by his sisters-in-law Patricia Pickle and Judy Pickle.  He was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Gilbert.

In 1974 Pat married the love of his life, Ruth Ann (Pfaff) and they began a life together that would span over 42 years when Ruth Ann predeceased him in 2016.  Their relationship was a true testimony of love and support.  They were a perfect couple, completely devoted to God and one another.  Together Pat and Ruth Ann raised three children who they were forever proud of; Jennifer & Daryl Atkinson, Rachel & Jason Apthorp and Jeff Pickle & Grace Milne.  Pat will be missed by his grandchildren Simon and Cameron Atkinson and Cameron, Jaden and McKenna Milne.  He will also be missed by the Pfaff family and by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

All of the paths that Pat chose to walk in his life led him to helping people.  It would be no surprise when he was called to the Ministry and gained the designation of Pastor.  He was a friend, a confidant and a companion to many people who he met and helped along his journey.  He lived his life as a true Christian and was a role model to all.

Visitation for Pat will be held on Sunday June 28, 2020 at Glad Tidings Community Church where Pat served for many years.  Due to COVID restrictions and responsible social distancing, you are asked to remain in your car in the parking lot until a parking lot attendant directs you to proceed. Visitation times will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service for Pat will be held in the church on Monday June 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  Again, social distancing protocols will be in place which will allow for limited seating inside.  Friends may also remain in their cars and listen to the service being broadcasted over your car radio on FM 88.9.

Which we all talked about. Its beautiful and far greater. Than we dreamed without a doubt. I expected Golden pathways. Mansions fair and gates of Pearl. But this place exceeds the visions. I had while in this world. What a Thrilll to be here dancing. In the midst of Heavens Throng. See me dancing with the Angels. Singing praise and worship songs. Though you miss me I'm not distant. I still have my sights on you. I just crossed into forever. Where I have a better view. Keep good memories to console you But let grief and mourning go. Smile dear love ones. Im in heaven living in God's glow. PRAYING FOR GOMFORT .AND THANKING GOD.(WELL DONE FAITHFUL SERVANT) WILLIS POLLETT NEW HARBOUR. NEWFOUNDLAND. .

Pastor Pat was so easy to talk to you sure could tell he loved the Lord. It took him along time to get over loosing his best friend Ruth Ann. I loved his preaching & some things he wrote on facebook he sure knew how to write i told him he could write books. He will be missed by so many people but just knowing he is in Heaven with his Lord & Saviour gives you comfort & peace.

Pat was a good friend. He served the Lord with all his heart. We will meet again

Dear Jennifer ,Rachel and Jeff l was deeply saddened to hear of your dear father Pat passing. I worked with him 28 years ago at SRC where l would push the wheelchairs down to the chapel for Sunday services. The clients loved your father and they would get so excited. He taught them all about our lord and they would laugh and smile at your dad . Then l worked at Copper terrace while going for my nursing and there was your Dad again with your mother at his side. Your father was always so kind and compassionate to others. Then l started attending Glad Tidings Church and there they were and l remember thinking this must be a great church for your parents to be there. Your father will be dearly missed especially in our senior activities but we know he is where he has longed to be at home again with your mother and our dear saviour. We are all so thankful for all the lifes he touched. May you find comfort and peace in knowing your parents are together again and will no longer feel pain . We all meet again in heaven and rejoice.

I greatly appreciated Pat's ministry at Copper Terrace. He was a good friend and pastor to my brother Bobby who was a resident there for several years. Pat was also very supportive of those of us community pastors who were involved in the chapel services at Copper Terrace. He had a wonderful way with residents and staff alike, and was a tremendous witness for Christ simply through his gracious presence in many and varied situations. He will be missed. He and Ruth Ann will now be together "with the Lord forever" (1 Thess. 4:17)

My condolences to the Pickle family. Pat's quiet presence and his smile will be missed by many. Thinking and praying for his family at this sad time. Carol Boylan

Please accept our sincere sympathy in the passing of Patrick, our thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this very difficult time. We have had the pleasure of hosting he and Ruth Ann in our home several times when he supplied the pulpit of Emmanuel Congregation Church in Ridgetown on occasion and appreciated their walk with the Lord. Death is not the end, it is only the passing on from time into eternity for the Children of God. Death is not extinguishing the light, it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come. I will always have fond memories of Pastor Pat when our Mom was at Copper Terrace. He always had a smile and stopped in to say hi.

Words cannot express our sorrow at the loss of Pastor Pat. He was truly a great man, pastor and friend. We will miss having him as part of our pastoral team at Glad Tidings and it really is as if a part of our team is missing. However, we know that Heaven's gain is our loss, and though he has graduated to eternity, we still feel the loss. We will miss him greatly, especially when he cuffed me on the back of the head for telling a lame joke. Praying for you guys.
