Murray Mifflin of Merlin passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday November 6, 2021.  He leaves behind his children Dave Mifflin (Lou-Anne), Susan Walker (Murray), Diane Mifflin (Keith), Greg Mifflin and Jeff Mifflin (Carey), his grandchildren Paul (Melissa), Steve (Laura), Tanya (Matt), Jodi (Darren), Vicki (Aaron), Gary, Devyn, Ashlyn and many great-grandchildren.  He will be remembered by his daughter-in-law Brenda Mifflin.  He has gone on now to be reunited with his wife Esther, his sons Kevin and Mark, grandson Stewart and great grandson Emmett.

Murray was one of three children born to the late Hannah & Gordon Mifflin and is survived by his sister Geraldine Delyzer (late Pete) and his brother Jack Mifflin (Sandy).

There are three things that can sum up Murray’s life; his family, his farm and his faith.  He was a kind and caring man who left the world a better place than he found it.

Visitation for Murray will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Friends wishing to attend are asked to call the Funeral Home at 519-676-9200 to reserve a time.  Face coverings are mandatory.

A Funeral Service will be held in Merlin Cemetery with Pastor Eric Skillings officiating on Wednesday November 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Family and friends wishing to remember Murray with a memorial donation are asked to consider two charities that were meaningful to him; the Ronald McDonald House https://www.rmhc-swo.ca/how-you-can-help/online-donation and the Chatham-Kent Hospice https://chathamkenthospicefoundation.com/donations/.

  • Your dad was such a warm, caring and loving man. We moved to Merlin 10 years ago and Murray kind of took us under his wing. Then Tim joined both the church choir and the Buxton choir. Everytime the choir sang somewhere and I went with them your dad always made sure that I was ok.Murray reminded me of my own dad.He loved his family, his friends and his community.Such a quiet and gentle man.Your dad is the kind of man every little girl wishes they could marry.I will miss him so much.It is such a terrible time on this planet I am glad he is free of it.My heart goes out to his whole family I know the pain of losing both of your parents. No matter how old you are being orphaned still hurts. So I am sending you hug's and know you are in my thoughts. Betty

  • To Murray's Family, Sorry to hear of Murray's passing. He was more than a gentleman providing transportation to the mens choir, & attending my wife's funeral with Esther.
Murray & I (Murray W) had lots of mens choir performances (Windsor to London) with Esther. Also we had coffee, & chat in the shed on his farm. It meant a lot to us to have him in the Merlin United Church Choir. May he Rest in Peace. Murray Wright, Jean Dawson, David Wright
