Ina Jean Dusten passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2023,with family by her side, at Blenheim Community Village. Born January 26, 1926 in Jerseyville,  Ontario to her parents, the late Rev. H.A. Edwards(1984) and Ina Mae Edwards(1979).

Loving wife of the late James (Jim) Dusten(1984). Mother of Roy Dusten and his wife Wendy, and Betty Lou Torau (late John Torau (2020).

Grandmother of Jaime, Tricia and Amy & Chris.

Predeceased by her sister Beatrice Almas and her husband Max, her brother Charles (Chuck) Edwards and his wife Arleita, nephews Austin Almas, Scott Dusten, Bob Lewis and niece Dianne Tolman. Survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mom taught elementary school for 35 years, retiring in June 1987, and received her B.A. from the University of Windsor in 1983.

We would like to express many thanks to all the Long-term care staff at Blenheim Community Village for their care of our Mom and Grandma over the past 5+ years.

Family to receive friends and family on Friday December 29, 2023,  at 1:00 p.m., 1 hour prior to the Funeral Service at Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street,  Blenheim, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation, or Charity of your choice.

Thoughts are with my dear niece Betty Lou and nephew Roy. Your mom, my dear Aunt Jean was a fond and important inspiration to all of us. She will be greatly missed.

Roy, Wendy and Betty Lou. Our sincere condolences on the passing of Jean. I have many memories of coming to visit your mom and dad on Cameron St. Your mom was a wonderful teacher as well as an awesome family friend.

I have many wonderful memories of Jean. We taught across the hall from one another at W.J. Baird Public School. She touched so many young lives and she will not be forgotten.

Dear Roy, Wendy and family, Was so sorry to hear about your mother and grandmother's passing. It's twice as hard when it happens around the holiday season. Treasure your memories. And always remember that grief is the price we pay for love.

Sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She lived a very long and full life. She had a "no nonsense" way of teaching as many did back in the day ..but a very kind woman personally. Thinking of your families.

Roy wendy& Betty Lou & family. My heartfelt condolences in the loss of your mom. Your mom was such a sweet heart. As a child thought she was strict teacher but as an adult realized she saw the potential we had and she made sure we reached that potential. I am forever grateful for that. She was an amazing school teacher and Sunday school teacher. And mostly a true lady and sweetheart. May you find comfort in all your warm loving memories. Hugs and prayers.
