Mr. Frank Wilson Mallory of Blenheim passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday March 1, 2012. Born November 22, 1918, the son of Lily (Pilbeam) and George Mallory, Frank joined his father to help oversee the operations of the company that his father began which would become known worldwide as Mallory Industries. On September 19, 1942 Frank married Margaret Pegg and began a journey that would see over 69 years. Frank and Marg raised two children; George & Roberta Mallory and William & Christina Mallory and enjoyed all the time they could with their grandchildren Matthew Mallory (Lisa), Aaron Mallory (Jess), Heather Kelly (Jay) and Stacey Hems (Mike) and their great grandchildren Logan and Owen Hems, Nolan Mallory and Kaitlyn Kelly. Frank is survived by his brother Raeburn & Bessie Mallory, by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his sister and brother in law Mary & Carl Doey. Frank was very involved in the community outside of his work at Mallory Industries. He was a long time member of the Blenheim United Church, serving on the Official Board for over 15 years. He was a 57 year member of the Blenheim Rotary Club holding the position of Secretary-Treasurer of the Blenheim Boy Scouts Group Committee for over 40 years, the Boy Scouts being sponsored by Rotary. Some of Frank’s favourite pastimes included skating and hockey, softball and badminton. He enjoyed reading and joined the Blenheim Public Library at the age of 12 which made him a member for over 80 years. He was very proud of his ability to learn the correct appearance of words and was quick to pick up mis-spelled words that did not “look right”. Visitation will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street in Blenheim on Sunday March 4, 2012 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. A Funeral Service for Frank will be held at the Blenheim United Church on Monday March 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Cook officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends wishing to remember Frank with a memorial donation are asked to consider either the Blenheim United Church Benevolent Fund or the Blenheim Rotary Club.
