A Celebration of Life and Reception will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Monday November 9, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Emma Jean DeMaeyer (Stefina) of Chatham passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday November 5, 2009. Emma was born 70 years ago to her late parents Bernadette (Bechard) and Dennis Emery. She is the beloved wife of the late Ed DeMaeyer (2004) and Stan Stefina (2008). Emma will be sadly missed by her children Denise Stefina of Chatham, Karen & Leslie McQuarrie of Blenheim and Rob & Gina Stefina of Windsor, by her grandchildren Tyler, Bianca and Sophia, her sisters Margaret Lesy of Blenheim and Pauline Chordash of Sombra and by all of her brother in laws and sister in laws of her combined families. She was known as “Aunt Emma” to all of the nieces and nephews that she loved so much. Emma was predeceased by her brothers Roland Emery (1962) and Victor Emery. A Celebration of Emma’s life and reception will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street in Blenheim on Monday November 9, 2009 from 11:00 a.m – 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Emma spent the last few weeks on the 3rd Floor Rehab Unit at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and made friends with all of the nurses there. In light of the exceptional care that she felt she received, her wish would be that friends wishing to make a memorial donation in her name would consider them.
