Cpt Bruce E Stephens

A photo of Cpt Bruce E Stephens

Cpt Bruce E Stephens was born in PtDover 66 years ago, he is survived by his beloved daughters Jaime and Jessie, his grandkids Reilly, Morgan and Aeden who he was very proud of. He is also survived by his last remaining sibling, his older brother Bob & Sandy and many fond nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his Girl’s Mom, Marion and their youngest daughter Jolie*. Bruce left school young to start work on Tug CJWeaver as a Commercial Fishermen which he loved , until Govt Quotas were cut , then he went to work in Marine Construction as a Deckhand, then bettered himself by becoming a Tug Boat Captain of which he was quite proud . Bruce was a very good Tug 0perator who loved working on the water in both Canada & the US, where he was married to his 2nd wife Lynne. Bruce loved his Harley’s too and could be seen taking folks for rides in his Sidecar. He was a good hearted , happy go lucky fella who loved telling stories and jokes ,whether you met him in a coffee shop or a bar,  in time you’d hear his great contagious belly laugh and see his blue eyes sparkle, yes often at his own jokes!  He was a good friend to many, a real character and not easily forgotten. He spent the last 22 years in the Eau . Bruce’s parting words were ” if I’d known I was going to live this long I’d of taken better care of myself ?! ,,naw,,ha to quote Jimmy Buffet ‘ Some of it majic, some of it trajic , but I’ve had a good Life all the way ‘ so if you’re inclined Raise your glass when you think of me , I’d do it for you !”  ~Bruce’s wishes stated he be Creamated , no formal funeral and that his Ashes be cast on both Lake’s Erie & Ontario ~ Rest Easy Cpt Bruce ,,they broke the mold my friend ! ️

Sending my sincere love and hugs to all of Bruce's families and friends. Always admired his composed ability to nail the punch line of an adventurous story and a great belly laughing joke! Many fond memories were had at the Sandbar because of Bruce! 💖

Gonna miss his face in the Eau...

To the family and friends of Bruce, I first met him in a small neighborhood bar called Skidges when he was married to Lynn as the obituary says he was a hell of a man right wrong or indifference, he had many jokes, some stupid some funny, some could not understand, but that was Bruce unpredictable, I could tell you think he was a man of his word. So the next time you see a tug, a fishing boat or a freighter remember BRUCE STEVEN'S. To the family I have a cigarette lighter that has a picture of the tug he was captain of. God bless an stay safe.

So sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. Our thoughts are with his many friends and family.
