A photo of Don Cowley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Donald Wyndham Cowley who passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday May 11, 2023 at the age of 92. Don was the loving husband of Lorna Cowley (nee Prout) of Blenheim. Loving father of Dianne (Peter) Moffat, late Max (late Elaine) Cowley and late Mark (Pam) Cowley. Step father to Kim (Tom) Ward and Steven Russell. Grandfather to many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Brother to Wayne (Virginia) Cowley and brother-in-law to Eleanore (Ken) Dease. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Don will be dearly missed for his charming smile that was always a part of him. Many will remember Don for his years of fixing farm equipment and owning his own business, D.W. Cowley and Sons. Don had a huge heart for children and believed in the many charities helping kids. He was involved in the Blenheim Open at the golf club raising funds for the Children’s Make-A-Wish Foundation. He rode motorcycles with the Goldwing Road Riders raising funds for children as well. He was a chartered member of the Optimist Club and was even recognized in the community as the Senior Citizen of the year. He loved many card games, Euchre and Solitaire being his favourite. Don travelled the world and truly enjoyed a great life. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a children’s charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com

Lorna and family, so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So many memories growing up of Don. Growing up with Mike Cowley and having so many fun times at the farm. From snowmobiling, to being towed to the golf course for tobbaganning, go- carting around the laneways, etc. he always had cold beverages for the adults, pops for us kids and a fire going in the shop. With his sidekicks Coke & Pepsi always nearby. He was one of my dad's long time friends along with Max , and they spent endless hours together at the farm. Besides our home number it's a phone number I'll never forget because if Dad wasn't home he was usually with Don. 519-676-8118. Rest in Peace Don ..... You left amazing memories behind for so many. Our condolences for your loss.

Lorna & family, Don was truly one of the greatest men we have ever had the pleasure to know. His generosity went above & beyond. Anyone who knew him, knew of his generous nature & how he had a smile for anyone he met. The Blenheim Open was a highlight for Don as he loved being with “the kids”. He will always be remembered fondly by us. Our sincere condolences, Curtis & Helen Carter

He was a wonderful friend to our Mom and Dad, and was always ready to help with anything they might need. We will miss him.
