What makes us different? Our motto at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home is “yes we can” or more importantly “yes YOU can”. I encourage people to follow their hearts. There are no silly ideas, there are no silly questions. You have only one chance and you won’t regret the things that you did; only the things that you wished you did but were afraid to ask.
What makes us different starts at the very beginning. Many funeral homes subscribe to an answering service to take their calls after normal business hours. I have committed that when someone needs us in the middle of the night, they will hear our voices on the other end of the phone.
When you make funeral arrangements, I promise that I won’t try to sell you something that you don’t need or want. There is no pressure. After the funeral I will personally visit you and take care of all the paperwork that needs to be done. I will complete and forward the applications for the CPP lump sum death benefit, spousal benefits and survivor benefits for children if you qualify, I will return all of the government identifications such as a driver’s license, health card, passport and social insurance number etc. etc. I will provide you with all of the Proofs of Death that you will need to settle an estate…even if you run out and need more there is no charge here.
For the time that you are here, this home is your home and you are my boss. The fridge is stocked with pop and water for you and your friends, and there is always coffee and tea on as well. People always comment that our funeral home doesn’t feel like a funeral home…it is warm and inviting. I think that we have some of the nicest staff in the world. They will be checking to see if you need something to drink or if you need the temperature adjusted in the room. When Uncle Frank couldn’t get an early flight and won’t get home until midnight, no problem…we’ll be here waiting for you. And no that won’t cost extra…we just care that much.
