Nora Williston

Nora Williston passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Sunday November 30, 2014. There were four children born in Scotland to Donald & Mary (MacLeod) Matheson; Nora who was born on May 14, 1922 and her siblings Donald, Kate and Norman. After the family immigrated to Canada, Nora met a gentleman from Chatham by the name of Howard Leslie Williston and they were married. Together they raised their son Craig, who with his wife Fay made Nora the very proud grandmother of Adam and Kelly. For many years Nora and Howard lived in Chatham. Nora was a longtime adherent of First Presbyterian Church and was actively involved in the ladies groups there. She also spent many hours volunteering for community organizations in her effort to leave the world a better place. Over the past few years, the staff of the Blenheim Community Village earned the respect of Nora’s family through their daily efforts to make Nora’s new home comfortable…your compassion was noticed and appreciated.

Friends and family are invited to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Thursday December 4, 2014 to celebrate Nora’s life. There will be visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. At 11:00 there will be a Funeral Service conducted by Rev. Bill Terris which will be followed by a luncheon and a time to visit with family and friends. Following the luncheon, the family will proceed to Arnold Cemetery where Nora will be laid to rest with Howard. Friends wishing to remember Nora with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Chatham-Kent O.S.P.C.A.
