1:00pm-4:00pm
6:00pm-8:00pm

The family of Richard “Duke” Finn, with great sadness but gratefulness for a long, happy life, announce his passing at Riverview Gardens on June 13, 2023 at the age of 87 after suffering a debilitating stroke in December of 2022. Beloved friend and husband to Evelyn Finn (nee Heward). Richard and Evelyn were married on May 30, 1958 and just celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. Dad will be forever missed by his daughters Kerry Coholan, Denise Tunstall, Luanne Hay (Rosaire), and Lynda Wheeler (Jason Cikatricis). Best Grandpa in the world to Kasey (Mike) McGuire, P.J. Coholan, Brennan (Sophia) Wheeler, Shaelynn (Jeff) St. Amand, Maxx McLaren, Ben Tunstall, Magdelaine Tunstall, Michael Hay and Hillary. Loving Great Grandfather of Penny, Cole, Claire, Grant, Evangeline, Roman, Jacob, and Noah.
Always loved and remembered by his nephew Brent (Jane Marie) Ward. Survived by his sisters Joyce (Joe) Salive and Donna (late Ed) Carson. Richard is predeceased by his parents Norman and Yvonne Finn, his brothers and sisters Dorothy (John) Jack, Mary (Hector) Bulley, Anna (Leonard) Penman, Donald (Marie) Finn, Bill (Marilyn) Finn, Eleanor (Norris) Carson, and Wayne (surviving Cindy) Finn. Predeceased by son-in-law Peter Coholan, granddaughter Erin Coholan Booth and grandson Colin Wheeler. Dad enjoyed “investing” in his children’s inheritance at the casino which was one of his favourite places. He loved old cars, especially the ’66 Chevelle, attending car shows, the Match restaurant, Tim Hortons for coffee with the gang, the three stooges, playing euchre and above all else his family. Richard retired from Siemens in 1996 and also worked at Trans Canada Freezers and Daymonds. Your suffering is over Dad. Go for a long drive in which ever classic car you wish and may you never run out of road. God is Good and That’s Enough.
Visitation will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley St. in Blenheim on Monday June 19 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Cremation will follow with a Celebration of Life being held on Sunday August 27 from 2:30pm until 6:00pm at the Merlin Legion. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you donate in Richard’s memory to the Charing Cross United Church, Peace Garden at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Newbury Hospital, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  A video tribute of Richard can be viewed by clicking the following link:https://www.tributeslides.com/tributes/show/86CQHKR5GC2JT62T

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face.
The rain falls soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

We just heard of Duke's passing and we are sending hugs and condolences to Evelyn and their girls and their families. Hank worked with Duke at Siemens and in retirement enjoyed many coffees with him and the gang at Tim Hortons on Park Ave. When we drove by the Casino, we always checked to see if Duke's truck was in the parking lot. We shall miss him and may he rest in peace.
