Gordon Douglas Campbell passed away suddenly on Monday November 2, 2009 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Gordon was born 76 years ago to his late parents Mary (Downie) and Lorne Campbell. Gordon and Irene (Morningstar) celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary this past August. Their life together was one of many blessings. Together, on the same farm where Gordon was born they raised their four children Jim (Joy) of Blenheim, Bob (Anne) of Stoney Point, Janet (Jim Nauta) of Blenheim and Marianne (Shawn Fenton) of Ridgetown. They are the proud grandparents of Tyler, Jessica, Shauna, Ryan and Aaron Campbell, Erica, Rachel and Julie Nauta and Lydia and Anderson Fenton. Gordon is survived by his sisters Marjorie (Ken MacDougall) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Donna (Ward Uffelman) of Kitchener, his sisters in law Ruth Campbell of Blenheim, Norma Campbell of Ridgetown and Audrey (Lyle Dawson) of Chatham and by his mother in law Vivian Morningstar of Chatham. Predeceased by his brothers Mac (2004) and Murray (2009). Gordon lived all of his life on the Campbell Century Farm where he was born and was proud that the seventh generation of his family will be residing there. He was keenly interested in all aspects of farming and served on many boards that served to help farmers. He was an active member in the Ridge Community. The Campbell family invite relatives and friends for visiting at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street in Blenheim on Wednesday November 4, 2009 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held in the Ridge Community Church on Thursday November 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wanda Burse officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
