With quiet courage and a strong spirit, Mary Ann (nee Batiuk) Stefina passed peacefully on Friday July 23,2010. Born in Montreal 70 years ago, daughter of the late Anthony Batiuk and Lillian ( Zwarich ) Mary Ann was the beloved wife of the late Frank ( 2007 ) for over 46 years.

Loving and devoted mother to Susan (Bob), Frances (Ross), John( Tina ) and Eddie ( 1995 ). Loving Grandmother to Chris, Scott, Sarah, Dan, Jessica, Michael and Logan. Mary Ann was an only child and therefore adopted an open door invite to all, cooking and baking constantly.

She enjoyed gardening, knitting, watching her grandchildren in their various activities and travelling with her husband. She enjoyed many a card game with Frank, Nick ( 2010 ) and Josie.

Thank-you to her many angels of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Medicine A: Vivianne, Kristine, Stephanie, Lori, Roseanne, Rhonda, Natasha, Kelly, Sarah and Nicole to name a few.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Leukemia Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation for Family and close friends on Tuesday July 27,2010 10 am at Blenheim Community Funeral Home. Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Cremation to follow with private burial at a later date.

Edith Emily Cameron beloved wife of Ronald Cameron of Blenheim passed away on Wednesday, July 21 2010 in London. She is the loving mother of Randy and Kim Cameron of White Court Alberta and Sandra and Mark Rammeloo of Blenheim. Edith is the dear Grandmother of Jonathan, Shawn, Matt, Richelle, and Alex and great-grandmother of Austin, Jordon, and Ashton. She is also survived by, her sisters Anna Clark and Laura MacGregor of Prince Edward Island. Family and friends are invited to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home for visitation on Saturday from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Edith will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Terris officiating.

John Perry “Bo” Wardle of London and formerly of Blenheim passed away at home on Wednesday July 21, 2010. Born in Chatham, son of the late Ora and Earl Wardle, John is the loving father of Perry John Wardle & Denielle Baker of Komoka and Tanya Marie & Matt Drouillard of Waterloo. He is the devoted grandfather of Sophia & Benjamin and good friend of Yollande Reid. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Bob & Debra Wardle of Blenheim, Hildred Hillman of London, Gary & Carolyn Wardle of Brownsburg Indiana, Arthur & Pat Wardle of Ridgetown, Nancy Crow of Chatham, Harold Wardle of Blenheim, Brenda Ritchie of Chatham, Wanda & Ken Travis of Chatham and Becky & Romeo Brideau of Chatham and by his brother in law Bud DeLeeuw of Chatham. John was predeceased by his sisters Carris Wickwire, Betty DeLeeuw and Marjorie Formosa. John was well known for his cooking abilities and his willingness to help his family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and at Glad Tidings Church on Saturday from 10 o’clock until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Friends wishing to remember John with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Multi Organ Transplant Program through London Health Sciences Foundation.

GULUK, Dymitr ‘Mike’

Peacefully at age 86 on July 21,2010.

Born in Dworce,Poland in 1924, Mike served 2 countries in WW2, a sailor with the Polish Navy and a radio specialist with the British Royal Air Force.

Mike married Helena Borek in 1947 and they proudly immigrated to Canada in 1952 where they settled in Sudbury. A long time employee of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, along with his wife Helen, he became an active member of the local Polish legion (SPK).

Mike and Helen retired to St Catherines in 1982 where they continued their Legion activities and involvement in the Polish community.

Predeceased by his wife of 49 years Mike moved to Chatham to be near his daughter Anne in 1997 where he spent the last 13 years of his life as the ‘resident gardener’ of the Chatham Retirement Resort. Even as the years took their toll on him, Mike remained a supporter the Legion (Br 28) and Polish Canadian Club in Chatham.

A good husband to Helen.

A good father to Michael Guluk and Anne McArthur.

A good father-in-law to Sandy Guluk and Ric McArthur.

A good grandfather to Lauren, Stephen, Lani, Brian and Cody.

A good companion to Stella.

A good friend to Mary.

A GOOD MAN! A GOOD LIFE!

Yvonne Marie Bennett passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Monday July 12, 2010. Born in Belgium, Yvonne immigrated to Canada with her parents Esther and Edmond Claeys in 1929. She is the proud mother of Jacqueline & Philip Johnson of Cedar Springs, Terry & Robin Bennett of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Jim & Pat Bennett of Erie Beach and Robert & Erin Claeys of Windsor. Yvonne will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren Greg, Brandon, Gerrod, Sarah, Ashton and Taryn and by several great grandchildren. She is the loving sister of Evelyn Vadovic of Dover Centre and Maurice & Simone Claeys and Donald & Louise Claeys of Blenheim. She is predeceased by her sister Marie Claeys, her brother Omer & Madeline Claeys and by her brother in law Carl Vadovic. Yvonne’s family will receive family and friends at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Cremation will follow. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday July 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. In keeping with Wayne's wishes, Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service at this time.

Wayne Edward McDermid of Blenheim passed away in London on Sunday July 4, 2010 at the age of 62 years. Wayne is the loving husband of Carroll (Hanson) McDermid and best friend of his son Kenneth McDermid at home. He is survived by his sister Susan Guy of Chatham and by a number of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and a number of special close friends. Wayne was a lover of music. At the age of 12 he learned to play the drums through his membership in the Police Boys Band in Chatham. Over time he became a drummer for the Royal Canadian Legion Pipe Band and he was a drummer with the Ridge Road Band. Wayne was also a member of the Essex & Kent Scottish Regiment Association, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28 and the Chatham Armoury Messes & Institute, Ansell Armoury. The Blenheim Community Funeral Home has been entrusted with Wayne’s wishes. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service at this time. Friends wishing to remember Wayne with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.

Donna Elaine (Vinter) Dowd passed away on June 25, 2010 at the age of 66 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 39 years, Wayne Dowd and by her children Barb & Mark Osborne of Blenheim, Rob Dowd of Chatham, Elaine Dowd & Doug Innes of Blenheim and Paul & Jennifer Dowd of Blenheim. Nana will be missed by Christopher Osborne, Lindsey Osborne, Katie Jubenville, Adam Jubenville, Zach Dowd, Luke Dowd, McKenzie Dowd, Olyvia Dowd, Cooper and Cayson. Donna is survived by her brother Charles & Colleen Vinter of Ridgetown and she is predeceased by her brothers Bev Vinter and Ron Vinter. Donna will be remembered for her determination in life to make the world a better place for her children. Friends will remember Donna through her work in the meat department at the Dominion Grocery Store and at Mallory’s. Family and friends are invited to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Donna will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Eli George Ivanchenko, formerly of Ridgetown passed away in Toronto on Friday June 25, 2010. Eli was born in the Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1950. He retired from working with Hydro as a lineman. He is survived by his children Mike Ivanchenko, Kathy Ivanchenko and Judy Ivanchenko. Funeral Arrangements will be private. Interment in Pardoville Union Cemetery.

David McGuigan

David Virgil McGuigan, son of the late Virgil and Florence (Fitzgerald) McGuigan passed away at his home in Blenheim on Thursday June 24, 2010 at the age of 83. David was predeceased by his wife Helen (Pardo), by his eldest son Gordon, his brother James McGuigan and by his brother-in-law Robert Pardo. He is survived by his children Mitchell (Mary), Anne (Serge), Karen (Scott), Susan (Deny) and by his daughter-in-law Jacqueline Morin. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his sister Helen Miller (Ed), brothers Robert (Tina) McGuigan and Maurice (Simone) McGuigan, sisters-in-law Mona McGuigan and Eleanor Pardo, brother-in-law Douglas (AnnaMae) Pardo and many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Surrounded by the love of her family, Dianne Elaine (Lachine) Payne passed away at her home on June 10, 2010 at the age of 60 years. Predeceased by her husband John in 2005, Dianne is the proud mother of Sherry & Joe Brown of North Buxton and Mike Payne & Des of Blenheim and the loving grandmother of Tikesha Brown, Shaphan Brown, Zachary Brown, Kierra Brown, Alexie Payne and Taylor Payne as well as the great grandmother of Jesavior, Faith and Destinee Collier. She was fortunate in life to experience the joys of a large family, being one of fourteen children born to Loretta Lachine of Ridgetown and the late Donald Lachine. She will be missed by Bob & Jane Antaya, Sandra Lachine, Edward & Bev Lachine, Carol & Wayne Parker, Evelyn Nott, Sandra Rumble, Janet VandeHogan, Randy Lachine & Tracy Faulkner, Wendy Lachine & Linda Dunn, Daniel & Alicia Lachine, Lawrence Lachine and Cameron & Bernadette Lachine. Dianne is predeceased by Donald Lachine, Leonard Lachine, Gary Nott and Robert Rumble. Dianne was a kind and caring person who put the needs of others first. She worked as a Nurse at local Nursing Homes and later worked at Helen’s Country Harvest.
