JoAn was my classmate at PGH School of Nursing. Being such a thoughtful person, JoAn was the honorary "coordinator" of our class and kept us all in touch about and with each other. She helped organize reunions and get-togethers. JoAn was sincere, genuine and cheerful. I was honoured to be her friend, classmate and share our knowledge of our profession. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

When I was in training at the College I had the pleasure of having Joanne as an instructor and our paths have crossed many times since over the last 40 years, most recently when she was volunteering at the hospital Gift Shop. I used to tease her when she was banished to the front lobby to sell Nevada tickets but she was always so cheerful and I think she secretly liked being out where there were lots of people to interact with- and she knew so many of them.
