Deb Tye

A photo of Deb Tye

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Deborah (“Deb”) Ann Tye on Saturday, June 6th, 2020 at the age of 60. Nothing in life was more important to Deb than her family. She was so very proud of her niece, Karlee (Ben) and nephew, Joel, and she will truly be missed by them. One of Deb’s happiest moments in her life was the arrival of her great nephew, Lincoln James. Every day forward, she thought about him before anything else, and spoiled him immensely! Even though he may be too young to remember her, she made a lasting impact on him, which his parents, Karlee and Ben will be forever grateful for.

Deb is survived by and will be forever missed by her loving parents, Jim and Mary Lou Tye (nee Busteed), and younger brothers, Kevin (Shirley), Dave, and Tom (Crystal), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Deb was predeceased by her infant sister in 1960 and great nephew, Daeton Mantle in 2006. Deb loved to spend time with her parents, and you would often find the three of them at Dresden Raceway during the summer to watch the weekly Sunday horse races. She was also the light to many other people’s lives outside of her family. She worked at McDonald’s in Wallaceburg at the drive thru window for many years, so a vast majority of people were fortunate enough to get to know her and see her often.

Deb was also quite crafty from her experience working at Westbrook Floral for many years, and often enjoyed making ornaments and decorations for others and to decorate her parent’s farm in Blenheim, which she was proud to call her second home. Deb was never afraid to tell anyone in the family like it was or what she thought, and that is something that made her so extra special to everyone.

In honour of Deb’s wishes, cremation has taken place with no service to follow. Those wishing to remember Deb with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Ronald McDonald House Charities – Southwestern Ontario or the Canadian Mental Health Association.

All of us at re:find charity thrift shoppe in Wallaceburg are shocked and saddened to hear of Deb's passing. She shopped at our store regularly and we enjoyed her visits, very much. She became our friend. When life was so concerning following Lincoln's birth we prayed with her. She always showed us pictures of him and we saw the joy and love that she felt towards her precious nephew. We knew that the members of her family were very, very dear to her. We will miss her visits and will always remember her fondly. May God bless her family at this terribly sad time.

My heart is heavy with sadness I will miss Deb aka jr so very much. I met Deb while working at McDonalds we worked together every day. After I left McDonalds we kept in touch not as much as we should've though. Last we seen each other I picked her up at the pharmacy drove her to get supper then home. We talked about how she went home for dinner with her parents and seen the children. She told me about the new little addition to your family baby Lincoln. We also talked about her moving out of her apartment into a smaller space she admitted to being a pack rat and found it hard to part with some things. Then we fist bumped calling each other sisters as I'm the same way as her we keep everything. She had a huge smile. This pandemic had hit her hard as it stopped her from being with everyone as much as she wanted. We planned again to get together for dinner after this pandemic was over, as we used to go out with a few friends for dinner and drinks at the Blackgoose or Craby joes. Deb will be missed by all who knew her. My deepest condolences to the Tye family wish I could hug each of you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending love and strength to the entire Tye family as you move forward in the days to come. Sure loved seeing Deb at family gatherings, she will be missed by many. Love and prayers Lisa & Carl Vink
