Carol Ann Jouwsma (nee James) a life long resident of Blenheim, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the age of 80.  Born in Pain Court, ON to the late Wesley and Marie (Barnier) James.  Beloved wife of John Jouwsma.  Loving mother of Margaret Stuckey, the late April Jouwsma (1964) and the late Michael Jouwsma (1967).  Dearest grandmother of Jessica (Mike) Levesque and great grandmother of John, Matthew and Benjamin Levesque.  She will also be missed by her siblings Cora Ball, Ruby Preston, Shirley Zruna, Clayton James and many nieces and nephews.

Carol worked as a hair stylist for 60 years before retiring, she was a polio and cancer survivor.

As per Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church.  She will be buried with her mother in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Those wishing to remember her with a memorial donation are asked to consider St. Mary’s Church Renovation Fund.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your dear wife and mother. We were neighbors growing up and my brothers and I have many great memories of swimming with Margaret and Carol in the Jouwsma pool. Carol was a bright and lovely lady with a big heart and a quick smile. May she rest in peace.

John and family, Carol was there for me, never said NO, if you needed your hair done. She was such a wonderful person and will be missed dearly. Carol and Elvis will do it THEIR WAY. 💕

I am at a loss for words, I loved Carol with all my heart. I am so sorry for this family's loss, and what a loss Carol will be not only to her family but her tons of friends that also loved and admired her, Carol had a heart of gold and tried to do anything for family and friends. I loved coming for a visit and having coffee with Carol, but with this virus out there, that wasn't in the books at this time. I will miss her smile, laughter, and caring, Carol was one of a kind. May God be with you during this difficult time

So sorry to hear this news! I was a teenager when my parents moved to 3 Flemingo Drive. Carol and John were my neighbours. Carol was always so kind often inviting me to share the pool. She was also my hairdresser for years! I remember her as always smiling! More recently, she has given me support as I deal with my own cancer journey! All my sympathies to Margaret, John, and the rest of her family as they grief her passing!

Sending heartfelt condolences to the entire Jouwsma family in the loss of a wonderful fun- filled lady with a heart of gold and a heartwarming laugh. I have so many great memories of our Halloween nights on her porch dressed in one of her many costumes. Rest In Peace dear lady.
