Allison “Al” Moore

Al Moore, beloved husband of Vera (Sykes) Moore passed away at home on Wednesday December 4, 2019.  He will be remembered fondly by his daughter Margaret & Allan Pym and his son Mark & Melissa Moore.  Al earned “Pop” status when his first grandson Mitchell Moore was born in 1996.  Mitch passed away in 2015, leaving Al to be loved to the moon and back by Allison Pym, Trevor Moore, Rachel Pym, Nathan Pym, Brittany & Galen Wilson and Brandon Wysman.

Al was predeceased by his parents Margaret (Allison) & Robert Moore and by his stepmother Kathleen Moore.  He is survived by his sisters Mary Moore and Dianne Gleeson (Todd Dauphinas).

Al worked for 44 years beginning in 1961 beginning in the retail division of BF Goodrich.  By 1964 he had become credit manager.  He worked for 2 years with Goodyear as Assistant Manager, coming back to BF Goodrich as District Sales Manager where he had the prestigious honour of earning the Winners Circle for being the top salesman in Canada.

In 1982 Al resigned from BF Goodrich and purchased Pang Vulcanizing, remaining in his own business until 2005 when he sold the business and retired.

Visitation for Al will be held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Friday December 6, 2019 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and then again at the Charing Cross United Church on Saturday December 7, 2019 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. when a Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Andrew Gilliland.  A private family interment will take place in Pardoville Union Cemetery.
