Douglas Jerry St. Pierre of Chatham passed away on Monday July 23, 2018 following a brief illness. Born 79 years ago to the late Sylvester & Aurora (L’Ecuyer) St. Pierre, Doug is survived by his sister Beatrice Butler and his brother Edward St. Pierre (Jean). He was predeceased by his sister Annabelle Parsons and by his brothers Garnet St. Pierre (Marie) and Bob St. Pierre (Helen).

Doug was a gentleman; a kind and loving husband to Marilyn (McEachran) who he married 56 years ago on September 29th. He and Marilyn raised two sons of whom they have always been very proud; Brent & Barb and Mitch & Sarah. Doug was delighted when their family grew to include grandchildren Reggie, Brenna, Noah and Ethan.

Doug will be missed by many extended family members and friends, all of whom were his favourites. He was a dedicated member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Chatham for over 56 years and retired from Rockewell International after 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time he loved to go to flea markets to look for the ultimate purchase that would afford him endless hours of tinkering. He completely restored a 1948 Ford pickup which was his prized possession. Like their Dad, his sons share a love of old cars. Many days Doug could be found in the garage with his music playing and his dog beside him while he fixed whatever needed fixing, but above all his greatest joy in life was his family.

Family and friends are invited to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Thursday where visitation will be held from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. with prayers being offered at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Doug will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday July 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends wishing to remember Doug with a memorial donation are asked to consider either the Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Cancer Society.
