Peggy Joyce Holdaway passed away on Monday November 27, 2017 at Riverview Gardens in Chatham at the age of 82 years. Peg was predeceased by her husband Don Holdaway on August 31st of this year.  She was the proud mother of Lynn & Dexter Reed, Luann & Carl Phair, Susan Holdaway, Bonnie & Rick Crawford and Rod & Diane Butler.  She will be missed by 13 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Peg was one of 11 children born to the late Ethel (Pardo) & George Butler and she was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her sisters Lillian Little, Brenda Crombez, Violet Fields, Kathlene Zaikos and Yvonne Wismer, and by her brothers Larry, Les, Bev, Bob and Bill Butler.

After raising her children, Peg opened a hair salon in Blenheim called the Clip ‘N Curl that she operated for many years. She and Don enjoyed their retirement years living in Shrewsbury.

In keeping with Peg’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 – 9 p.m.  A Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Bill Terris will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Thursday November 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

Friends wishing to remember Peg with a memorial donation are asked to consider Kenesserie Camp, Pet And Wildlife Rescue or the Chatham-Kent Hospice.

Lynn, Luanne,Susan & Bonnie, I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother. Growing up Aunt Peg would be at our house at least once a week. I loved listening to her stories and she was a great comfort for my mother. I remembered how talented a seamstress she was, I admired her enthusiasm & candidness. She is now in a good place with her better half.

Sorry to hear the loss of your Mom, Grandma our deepest condolences.

Lynn, Lou Anne, Sue and Bonnie.. I am so sorry to hear of this so soon after Don's passing. My heart goes out to you. May you find some comfort in each other and your memories. We had some great times together in the Eau and Florida... Bonnie, I still remember Miss Beasley.

Rest in peace my dear Aunt Peg. Your mom could be a real fire cracker at times but underneath that exterior was a beautiful, thoughtful and caring woman. She is now in heaven with Uncle Don and looking down upon you all. Hugs & prayers to Lynn, Luann, Sue, Bon & Rod and families. Love you all.
