Surrounded by his loving family, Murray Handy passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2015 in his 89th year.  Born March 2, 1927 in Bounty Saskatchewan, Murray married the love of his life, Eva (Loveday) on February 8, 1947 and began a journey together that would span almost 69 years.  They are the proud parents of Carol and her husband David Nagle of Chatham, Jim and his wife Kathy of Blenheim and Brenda Jean Handy who passed away in 1967.  Their lives together became even better with their grandchildren Jason, Cheri, Matt and Amanda and their great-grandchildren Jessica, Carter, Orionna, Taccoa, Eastonn, Kaydence and Emelia.  Murray is survived by his sister Marion Trudgen and was predeceased by his sister Zelma Smith and his brothers Keith, Clare and Jack Handy.  He is the brother in law of Jean & Allan Downie, Donald & Carol Loveday and Kenneth Loveday.  He will be missed by his extended family and friends.

Murray and his brother Jack started Handy Brothers in 1959 and he worked there until his retirement in 1990 when he and Eva enjoyed travelling with their wonderful friends. Murray enjoyed both old time and modern square dancing with Eva for many years.  He also liked to polka and waltz.  Once a week he would visit the nursing home and entertain folks with his accordion and harmonica.

Friends and family are invited to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Monday December 28, 2015 where visitation will take place from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.

Friends wishing to remember Murray with a memorial donation are asked to consider the Blenheim United Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
