Mrs. Francis “Fran” Cammaert (nee Elson) passed away on October 1, 2016 after a battle with cancer. Fran was born 73 years ago to the late Calvin and Mable Elson. She is survived by husband of 46 years, Walter Cammaert, her children Jeff (Marcie), Robert (Sharon), Jenni (Eric), Mike (Stacy) and her grandchildren Ryley, Ben, Sydney, Jackson, Ian, James and Samuel. She will be sadly missed by sister Caren (Jim) Fisher, sister-in-law Linda Elson and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Mel Elson, father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert & Louise Cammaert.

Fran always gave of herself to help others and her community. She was an avid gardener, a lifetime member of Blenheim Minor Hockey, a member of the St. Mary’s CWL with whom she founded the Lenten Lunches, she sat on the church council and the school parent council amongst others. She had many special friends who will miss her smile, her laughter and her unconditional support. The family would like to thank the nurses on the 4th floor of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Dr. Sharngoe for the kindness that you showed to our wife and mother.

Friends and family are invited to the Blenheim Community Funeral Home for visitation on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 6:45 p.m. and will be followed immediately by CWL prayers. A Funeral Mass celebrated by Fr. John Juhl will be held in St. Mary’s Church on Thursday October 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.

Fran was an amazing woman and an awesome family friend. I know my parents will always treasure their friendship with her. I will always remember my times with her at the Blenheim Arena. She often had to scrub Walter’s hands with lots of soap because I always took her admission stamps and stamped his hands with them. My Aunt Linda DeGelas is right, God did get another angel. Our sincerest condolences to Walter, Jeff, Robert, Jenni, Mike and their families, along with Caren and Linda. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. RIP Franny. The Anderson’s will miss you lots, especially my Mom. Love always, Kelley, Chris, and Koda Boy
