CLARKE, Aileen Isabell (nee Moffatt) – August 19,1925 – March 27 2014, in her 89th year. Cherished wife of Paul F. Clarke for 64 years. Tender loving mother of Janis (Ray), Jon, Paula, Greg, Julie (David). Beloved grandmother of Raphael (Carmen), Kim (Mike), Gail, Fiona and Thomas. Predeceased by sister Dorothy Martin, and brothers Delmar and Donald Moffatt. Aileen was a “born” physiotherapist. She graduated from the University of Toronto in the mid 1940s and worked extensively with veterans and polio victims. After marrying and settling in Windsor, she raised her family with devotion, and resumed her physiotherapy career. Aileen was a tireless worker in church groups, United Way, Home and School and other community organizations, including chairing the Windsor District Health Council.

In 1982 she and her husband partnered in building a new home and life in Erie Beach. She was a hospital physio in Chatham, and volunteered with the Cedar Springs United Church and Orchestra London Chatham branch fundraising. Aileen was always a gracious hostess and extraordinary cook. She loved working in her greenhouse and creating beautiful gardens. Aileen’s sweet kindness, compassion, and wit will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. The family wishes to thank CCAC and her caregivers for their kind support. Family and friends who wish to join us in celebration of her life are invited to a memorial service at Siloam United Church, 1240 Fanshawe Park Rd E, London on Saturday April 5 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Way London or a charity of your own choice.
